Ryder Whittaker Hawkins

Since moving to China, I have been mentoring two students from the Belt and Road countries (Armenia, Iran) as part of my duties at the ZJU-ISM in Fotang, Zhejiang province. It is a great chance to impart good laboratory practises, self-confidence, broad scientific knowledge, cultural literacy and the Canadian way.

I founded my own education firm to help students ace their middle school, high school, and university preparation. My students include Jonathan Li (Northern Collegiate), Edward Liao (Carleton University - CS), Kevin Ho (UofT Scarborough - life sciences), Pearl Tsai (UTS Schools) and Michael Zhang.

I taught one-on-one and summer classes for second-generation Chinese-Canadian students in Toronto. My mentor was Dr. Stephanie Yu.

My first official tutoring position was in Toronto's Forest Hill neighborhood, helping kids succeed in English, French, computer science, and math. My students included Jaiman Gledhill, Jacob Halsey and more.
